Norfolk Island Confectionary: Say it with chocolate
Sweeties: Say it with Chocolate
Norfolk Island confectionary from Sweeties – Great gift packaged chocolate – handmade on Norfolk Island… with love!
The long-established Sweeties has always been famous on Norfolk Island for its old-world charm. Step inside and you will be captivated by its selection of treats, cleverly presented in a shop that has been made to make you feel as though you have stepped back in time. It’s a sweetie shop from your childhood memories, with a delectable selection of locally-made and imported goodies.
Owners Raewyn and Andrew Maxwell have operated the business for over 20 years and have been making delicious treats and ice cream for decades of Norfolk Island visitors. As well as their extensive range of chocolates and sweets, Raewyn and Andrew craft a full range of homemade ice cream. You can expect a rotating menus of options weekly, including everything from a staple favourite Vanilla to Lime and Coconut, Blood Orange and Chocolate Chip, Liquorice or Chai and Lemon Meringue… To name a few!Â
Located right in the heart of Burnt Pine at the roundabout, you’ll often see happy customers perched on the bench outside racing the melting rate of their ice creams with a cheeky smile.
However, if you are looking for a souvenir to take back home – Ice cream isn’t really an option, but luckily Sweeties offer a range of chocolates too. Andrew is the master chocolatier at Sweeties and painstakingly tempers couverture Belgian chocolate over several hours. It’s a tricky and time-consuming task that requires meticulous attention to detail and patience – a skill that Andrew has perfected over several years. The result is smooth and creamy, moreish chocolate delights, that melt in the mouth and quite simply make you want more.
Look out for new beautifully gift-packaged Milk or Dark Chocolate bars (pictured below) which make the perfect Norfolk Island gift. Each chocolate package is beautifully designed, and even contains a full coloured inner print with a quirky illustrated graphic of Norfolk Island’s history, as well as the chocolate making journey. So it’s a tasty treat and gift with a little bit of education thrown in – all beautifully presented and handmade on Norfolk Island… with love.
