On Baunti Tours ‘A Night on The Bounty Dinner & Show’ you will be taken on a journey from England to Tahiti to find out what led to the infamous Mutiny on board the Bounty – one of the great ocean tales of all time.
On the morning of the 28th of April 1789 Fletcher Christian and 18 disaffected crew members seized control of HMAV Bounty from Lieutenant Bligh. In doing so they set in motion a chain of events that has not only changed the course of history for both Pitcairn and Norfolk Island, but continues to capture the hearts and minds of countless people around the globe. The mutiny has inspired scores of books and several films.
Of the 19 mutineers, 9 would later set sail with their Tahitian companions and a small group of Tahitian men to settle on the uninhabited Pitcairn Island, arriving in January 1790. Their community grew to over 190 people who were moved to Norfolk Island in 1856 to form the community you find today. A small number returned to Pitcairn in the years following 1856 where their descendents remain.
Together with Baunti Tours you can experience the fascinating journey on board the Bounty in a fun theatre dinner setting. This is an entertaining way to learn about this seafaring saga where the cast of actors will take you on an enthralling journey back in time to find out what happened between the Bounty setting sail from Spithead in England in December 1787, and lead to the dramatic uprising in the South Pacific, nearly 18 months later.
This is an immersive dinner experience where you will be treated to a special three course dinner to compliment the theatrical setting. A Night on The Bounty Dinner & Show is a night of great entertainment, delicious food and dinner theatre that brings the infamous mutiny to life!
